Creating a photo book may seem like a difficult task if you are not creative or if you haven’t seen the entire photo book process before. The process is simple and involves preparation, proper supplies, and patience!  It can be condense to 5 simple steps:   gather materials, design your layout, print your photo book, bind your photo book, and embellish your photo book.

Step One: Gather Materials

This step involves getting the proper supplies for your photo book project.  The basic materials needed to create your photo book are digital photos.  If you have printed photos that are not in a digital format, you need to get them digitized.  You will also need high quality paper, story -telling software, access to a high quality printer, and a book binder.

Step Two:  Design you Photo Book Layout

Designing your photo book layout allows you to tell your story using your photo book.  This will require the use of photo book  templates. This is extremely easy because so many common software packages include photo book software are a part of their template collection!  Use the photo book template that best tells your story and make adjustments when necessary!  If you have purchased the Unibind Photo Creator, photo book software accompanies the purchase.

Step Three: Printing Your Photo Book

This step will involve printing your photo book on your printer.  Make sure your paper is high quality and your printer can handle the weight of the paper.  Determine if you book will be single sided or double sided.  Your first page should have a full cover photo that can be seen in the 5 x 3.5  window of the photo book.

Step Four:  Binding Your Photo Book

Binding your photo book is easy using the Unibind Photo Book Creator.  You will need to gather the pages in the order you want your book created and put the pages in the Unibind hardcover.  Put the pages photo book and make sure your cover images is aligned in the center    5 x 3.5 window.  Look into the book spine to verify that the pages are aligned.  Place the book into the Book Creator, wait 90 seconds, and allow the resin in the spine to bind the book.

Step Five:  Embellish your Photo Book

The hardback finished product will be beautiful provided you followed the five steps here.  The only part lacking is the open 5 x 3.5 window.  To make up for this, I buy embellishment to add a decorative design to the finished product.  You can also use stencils and metallic pens to make your finished hardback photobook stand out.
